I have done this on occasion, but I do it in moderation. Skyrim makes me think too much of Der Ring das Nibelungen to put things that are too out of place in it. My opinion here is that it's all about flavor. If it's just using a japanese style of some sort, such as proportions, that doesn't make it anime. It isn't an "anime mod" unless it relates to an actual anime. I think people are really using the wrong labels here. I can guarantee you a great many hit movies in the past 20 years have had a great influence from the anime genre, and that many, many of their creators will even admit to it. There are so many fantastic anime series that are the opposite of what you'd consider "anime" that its unfathomable that people still treat anime with this bias. While it's true that japanese culture (and asian culture in general) has a wider social acknowledgement of euphebophilia, does not mean that its considered acceptable or that its even tolerated. Just like any form of art, anime has a wide range of themes, and I can guarantee you that "pedophilia" is certainly in the vast minority. I can't get into these "Pink Haired, latex clad, knightly-ninja-vampire-robot-fairy girl" stuff for some reason. As well, I might be a "Traditional Closet Fantasy Geek" but when an Anime Based Fantasy game trys to introduce something "New You've Never seen Before", my brain checks out on it. It's interesting, but it's still an "Impression" of someone, and not trying to actually look like a real human being. I find it wierd when art in some games, as well as some Skyrim Mods are trying to go backwards to an impression when graphics and Hardware are getting so good you can make things look more realistic.
I have always thought Jap Anime was an "Artistic Impression".
On that note, there are some things that I find strange about Anime in video games (Steps up on soap box). I also don't think an "Anime" based TES is moving the franchise forward. However in Skyrim, Graphics have gotten so much better and graphic rendering has gotten so much better that Anime just looks really really out of place. They could look Cartoony in an un-cartoony looking enviorment. The Character Face creations were so extensive in Oblivion but that made most of the Base models for the NPC's come out looking like strange, weirdly-rounded faces. I even see how in Oblivion it was alittle warrented to make mods like that for it. but I kind of feel like it's alittle,eer.pedophilic maybe? (If that's the right word )īut whatever people do or like "mod" wise if fine with me. I'm not trying to pass judgment on Any fans of it.
